Information System Security Officer (Junior and Senior)

Location: Columbia, MD 21046

Job Description:
Conducts Verification and Validation for security compliance of low and moderately complex Information Systems, products and Components. Analyzes design specifications, analyzes design documentation, analyzes configuration practices and procedures, analyzes operational practices and procedures, provides identification of non-compliance of security requirements, provides possible mitigations to requirements that are not in compliance, conducts on-site evaluations, validates the security requirements of the IS, verifiers the system meets the security requirements, validates the system meets the security requirements, provides vulnerability assessment of the system, coordinates penetration testing, and provides a comprehensive verification and validation report (certification report) for the Information System. Must possess experience of security or system engineering in three or more areas including telecommunications concepts, operating systems, databases/DBMS, middleware, applications, webservers, SANS/Netaps, Active Directory, Firewalls, and Controlled Interfaces.
The candidate will support one or more of three tasks: the Security Management /Monitoring task; the Secure Boundary task, and/or the Secure Access Architecture and Development task.
Possesses a wide range of knowledge in design of security components and architectures. Must be familiar with FISMA reporting requirements, well organized and willing to travel. Guides less experienced engineers. Capable of independent management of projects. Develop, conduct, maintain and revise the ISS training material as needed for NGA liaisons and deployed systems.
Review and archive weekly audit logs - AIS (Automated Information Systems) per DCID 6/3 requirements. Facilitate development and review of Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages for Designated Accreditation Authority (DAA)as required under DCID 6/3.
Job Requirements:
U. S. Citizenship is required. A TS/SCI clearance is required.
Junior - Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years related experience, or High School Diploma and 9 years experience, or Associates Degree and 7 years related experience, or Master’s Degree and 3 years related experience, or Doctorate and 1 year related experience.
Senior - Master’s Degree and 6 years related experience, or High School Diploma and 12 years experience, or Associates Degree and 10 years related experience, or
Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years related experience, or Doctorate and 4 years related experience.
