Systems Engineer

Location: Columbia, MD 21046

Job Description:
Analyzes functional business requirements and design specifications for functional activities. Should provide identification/fixing for the problems within existing systems design/implementation of new systems, enhances the existing systems and participates in analysis, design and new construction of next generation IT systems. Responsible for understanding the needs of the customers and the realities of commercially available IT products, and creating requirements that will allow implementation by the architecture and engineering team and COTS products. Must possess experience of system engineering in one or more areas including telecommunications concepts, computer languages, operating systems, database/DBMS and middleware.

The candidate will support one or more of three tasks: the Security Management Development task; the Secure Boundary Development task, and/or the Secure Access Development task.

The candidate will be knowledgeable and experienced in a wide variety of security engineering development techniques and required to support all documentation efforts. Must have experience in project development, security protocols, network protocols, and security standards and public key cryptography. Must be knowledgeable in boundary security controls, configuration control and configuration management. Must be knowledgeable in current solutions deployed within the customer’s organization. Will develop and design solutions, perform system integration and testing, complete documentation required for certification and accreditation and prepare product for transition for productization in preparation of the software development spin. Solid experience in Java programming, MS platform applications, Unix/Linux principles.

Job Requirements:
U. S. Citizenship is required. A TS/SCI clearance is required.
Mid-Level - Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years related experience, or High School Diploma and 9 years experience, or Associates Degree and 7 years related experience, or Master’s Degree and 3 years related experience, or Doctorate and 1 year related experience.
Senior Level - Master’s Degree and 6 years related experience, or High School Diploma and 12 years experience, or Associates Degree and 10 years related experience, or Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years related experience, or Doctorate and 4 years related experience.
